Finding a truly positive, transparent, and professional Board & Train program for your dog can be a challenge.

Your search is over! This unique board & train opportunity is built on force-free, reward-based methods and teamwork, giving your dog a safe, productive, and fun learning experience that will encourage an impactful boost to their confidence and foster long-term results.

What to Expect:

A free initial consultation allows us to meet before the start of the program, discuss goals and expectations, and ask questions. You will receive updates, progress reports, and videos during your dog's stay. Owner involvement is important. Also included with each board & train program are free follow-up private lessons and lifetime support to ensure a smooth and successful transition back into your family. You will also have access to a shared Google Drive where I will post updates and videos of your dogs' progress for you to follow along.
Your dog will receive 2-4+ one-on-one training sessions or training outings per day to work towards our goals, plus 24/7 management to reinforce desirable behaviors and guide them towards success.
When they are not participating in training sessions, your dog will attend small, supervised playgroup along with the other daycare and boarding dogs in my care, and/or will receive structured enrichment or rest time to recharge.
Your dog will learn through science-based positive reinforcement training methods at all times. I never use force, fear, pain, or aversive tools or methods to modify behavior. Your dog will not be put in shock collars, prong/choke collars, or receive any physical corrections or intimidation.
Every dog is treated as an individual, taking your goals and their preferences, history and unique characteristics into consideration to create a fully customized training plan and learning experience. I only take one board & train dog at a time.

Board & Train FAQ

Do you offer payment plans?
I do. I understand that training in general and especially board & train programs are an investment. I've worked to keep my rates as low as possible, but I also offer customizable payment plans and board & train programs to fit your budget. Please reach out to me if you're interested in a payment plan.
Why do i have to do a board & train consultation before starting the program?
The Board & Train consultation is a time we set aside to meet, evaluate your dog and discuss your training goals and expectations in person. The $80 fee simply holds your spot in my program, since I only take one Board & Train prospect at a time. The $80 fee will be taken off of your program total once we schedule our program start date.
What makes your board & train program different from all the others?
Board & Train has had a negative connotation in the dog training industry; it's very common for "traditional" Board & Train programs to use aversive methods- intimidation, fear and pain- to create an illusion of a fast fix (known as "learned helplessness"). This experience rarely creates positive, lasting results in your dog's training and can often cause them to regress further. My goal is to change the way Board & Train programs are conducted entirely by using the ideals set by LIMA (Least Intrusive, Minimally Aversive) and Fear-Free Pets to create a fun, productive, low-stress experience for your dog AND for you that will offer long-term results. That being said, in order for Board & Train programs to be truly effective, the owner must follow up with the rules set during the program, which will be discussed throughout the process and during the included private coaching lessons.
What can I expect out of this program?
Other than the obedience cues, tricks and good manners, you should expect a friendly, stress-free experience and a happy, engaged dog following the program. You may notice an increase in your dog's willingness to learn, in their critical thinking skills and in their confidence. I only have one Board & Train dog at any given time, so your dog will receive all of my time and attention in my home. You will receive detailed progress reports, plenty of photo and video updates, private lessons during and/or after the program (depending on your dog's specific needs), follow-up support and a typed outline so you know exactly what you dog has done each day, what to expect from him, and what he will expect of you. That being said, while Board & Train programs seem like a hands-off solution, there is still work that must be put in by the owner(s) following the program in order to see the desired results and get the most out of your dog's training.
How many dogs are in your board & train program at any time?
Just one Board & Train client at a time.
Can I visit my dog?
In most cases, yes! Ideally, we will meet for our private lessons during the dog's boarding stay so we can visit with one another, catch up and practice some of your dog's new important skills. Further, I allow and encourage families to meet us to observe their dogs' outings whenever possible.
Do you have other similar training options?
Check out my Day Training options and the "Training Add-on" service under the Add-Ons tab for single boarding nights with training rather than full programs.
